Baruch
haba! Welcome to Congregation Beth HaTephila in Asheville, North
Carolina.
We
are a Reform congregation of over two hundred and seventy-five families
in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
We
were founded as a congregation over one hundred and ten years ago;
our present facility was built fifty five years ago. We have our
own religious school of about 80 students with its own building
and we have our own cemetery.
We
are fortunate to have a very vibrant congregational life and Jewish
community. We have our own Jewish Community Center with a preschool,
a Jewish Federation organization, Center for Jewish Studies at University
of North Carolina, Asheville, Hadassah, and a Conservative congregation
(Beth Israel) as well.
Asheville's
Jewish community is comprised of many newcomers who have been attracted
by the beauty of the mountains, the mild climate, the slower pace,
the excellent schools and healthcare, and the many opportunities
available for retirees.
We
cordially welcome you to our website and hope that you will find
it helpful in learning more about us. Please do feel free to contact
us directly by email
