Executive Summary of the CBHT Strategic Plan for 2015-2020
The Congregation Beth HaTephila Strategic Plan is designed to ensure the continued strength and well-being of our Temple. With the completion of the expansion and enhancement of our edifice, it was recognized that there is an opportunity for substantial growth within all areas of Temple Life. This Plan has been developed in order to meet these opportunities and challenges, both now and into the future.
The CBHT Strategic Plan is based on the Temple’s Vision and Mission Statements which focus on the values of our Temple inherent in Reform Judaism and encompass the spirit of an engaged, welcoming community. The goals, as established and agreed upon by the congregation, were developed as the means to achieve this Vision and Mission. They include all aspects Temple Life: Worship, Membership, Financial and Structural Sustainability, Education, Tikkun Olam and Connection with Jews, both within and beyond our local community. In order to accomplish these goals and further enhance our level of Temple engagement a central and unifying element of this Plan is the practice of “audacious hospitality” and relational Judaism.
Objectives and accompanying activities have been established to guide the attainment of the goals and determine the effectiveness of the strategies so assigned. These objectives and related activities were established by the Temple Board, Rabbi, staff, Religious School, committees, and auxiliary organizations whose functions are associated with each of the goals. These groups will provide reports on their activities and progress toward goal attainment to the CBHT Board of Trustees. The Board will utilize this Plan in establishing priorities for the congregation. It will review the Plan at six month intervals and will provide suggestions for updating it as needed, with referral to the Strategic Planning Committee for implementation of the recommendations.
The CBHT Strategic Plan is a “living,” dynamic document. It will guide our congregation over the years, as together we meet the demands and possibilities of being part of the vibrant, growing Reform Jewish community of Congregation Beth HaTephila.
