Congregation Beth Ha Tephila is seeking a new Director of Education to lead our religious school, whose focus is “Growing Jewish Lives.” The religious school’s programming includes both formal and informal education for newborns through high school seniors and their families. In addition to students, teachers and parents, the Director of Education collaborates with Temple professional staff and the Religious School Committee.
We are seeking a warm, inclusive individual with strong interpersonal skills, who will make congregants and visitors feel welcome and work well with our rabbi, trustees, staff and volunteers.
Responsibilities include Hebrew (liturgical) and Religious Studies curricula, managing religious school staff, developing and overseeing enrichment opportunities for students and parents, and administration of the school budget.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree (e.g. Education, Jewish Education, Jewish Studies) and poses knowledge of Jewish history and Reform Jewish practice, a passion for educating children and families, strong written and oral communication skills, and personnel management experience.
